Everything starts with nothing: This could be a great lesson for entrepreneurs. We never knew Arvind Kejriwal’s name 3 years ago. It started popping up and he capitalized every opportunity that came his way. It would be considered day dreaming to elect 28 new constituents who have zero experience running a government to win an election. We have seen people’s movement win in cinema. He started from nothing, took baby steps and the results are here.

Chaos is Opportunity: There was and is a lot of chaos in India. Chaos and Problems created for you are great opportunities. There were hurdles all along. He converted every chaotic situation into an opportunity. He capitalized on the misdeeds of people in power and put up a brave front. This requires guts.

Be Daring: It is not a walk in the park to be daring against a 3 time winner (especially in a country like India). He was firm on his principals & clear on his goals. Some would call him arrogant, he was daring.

Picking the right people: People matter and going by the results, he chose the right people to contest. When there were issues with a few candidates, they withdrew from contesting. Communicating that they have the right team and mix was also a critical element to his success.

Team – Work: Arvind Kejriwal’s team worked as a team. They delegated work, mobilized on each other’s strengths and let everyone in the team perform. Efficient use of volunteers(convincing volunteers to work for a party is not an easy task by any means). This requires strong leadership skills. He is a leader.

The timing is perfect. There was and is an opportunity. Not everyone is Arvind Kejriwal and it is not easy to utilize such an opportunity to make a difference. There are immense such avenues in India – the land of challenges (opportunities).

Thank you Arvind Kejriwal. Your performance matters and will inspire others to follow suit. It will also reduce the tolerance factor of an voting Indian and will drive us to performance.

Jai Hind.
